It's not much, and it melts away each day, but it is a lovely surprise to wake up to snow on the ground.

"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, and snow is exhilarating, there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather." - John Ruskin

It 's been snowing here. These gals seem to be non-plussed by the whole thing. They just keep on scratching and laying, in spite of the weather.

We can see a thousand miracles around us every day. What is more supernatural than an egg yolk turning into a chicken?

Aah, peace!

While Rod is in the middle of a huge career transition- getting his CDL, it's nice to see that some in our family are very much at peace and enjoying the kernel. :)

For money you can have everything it is said. No that is not true. You can buy food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; soft beds, but not sleep; knowledge but not intelligence; glitter, but not comfort; fun, but not pleasure; acquaintances, but not friendship; servants, but not faithfulness; grey hair, but not honor; quiet days, but not peace. The shell of all things you can get for money. But not the kernel. That cannot be had for money. -Arne Garborg, writer (1851-1924)

Kickin' It in the New Year

The whirl of life in the real world will start again soon- tomorrow- big changes on the horizon for our family, some interesting career change problems to solve. But for today, we're chillin' in the mess :)

While out on our New Year's Day jog/walk at Bald Hill, Rod decided to help me with my photo shoot by posing as if he were walking for my photo of him walking. Although we were sick, I spent my New Year's Day laughing with him- a great way to start the year.
